Since the first UCF Book Festival in 2010, I’ve been a big supporter of the event. I am so happy that there is now an annual book festival in Central Florida.

Why?

Because it’s free …
it’s a university event and draws great authors …
there are events and authors for all ages …
and we didn’t have this when I first moved to Orlando.

If you’ve never been to the UCF Book Festival, make your way to the main campus on Saturday, March 31.

(It’s free … did I say that already?)

This year there are so many great authors speaking at the festival – see book covers from a few of my favorites below – that there is something for everyone.

It is a very family friendly festival and this year there will be cupcakes. (Books & cupcakes!).

I hope to see you there. I’ll be completely geeked out on books, especially when I moderate a panel with Aliya S. King and Nelson George on The Beauty and Power of Hip Hop at the festival.
